When owners of homes that were built over 20 years ago change their insurance companies
for any reason, whether by their choice or the company’s cancellation, the new insurance
provider will most likely request a 4 Point Insurance Inspection.
This inspection was created after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 to assist the insurance
companies in determining whether homeowners have maintained their homes in an acceptable
and safe manner for insurance purposes.
The four areas that are inspected are (1) roof (2) electrical
(3) HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and (4) plumbing.
Home inspections by Butler Builders, a certified general contractor, include all
the necessary documentation and photographs in an official report that will be submitted
directly to your homeowners insurance company.
